Pilates offers a transformative path to well-being. Beyond building a strong 'powerhouse' (your core), it acts as a mental anchor, reducing stress and enhancing cognitive function.
•Physical Alignment: Corrects muscle imbalances and restores natural spinal curves.
•Mental Clarity: Focuses on the breath to lower cortisol and stimulate endorphins.
•Neuroplasticity: Complex coordination patterns challenge the brain and improve memory.
The Hundred
A vigorous warm-up using rhythmic arm pumps and core holds to build heat.
Roll Up
A slow, controlled articulation of the spine that challenges the upper and lower abs.
Single Leg Stretch
Builds coordination and lower abdominal endurance while keeping the torso stable.
Plank (Front Support)
The ultimate total-body stabilizer. Focus on a long line from head to heels.
The Hundred is a quintessential Pilates mat exercise designed to jumpstart your circulation and strengthen your core 'powerhouse'. Named after the 100 dynamic arm pumps performed in unison with specialized rhythmic breathing, it aligns your body and wakes up your lungs for the work ahead.
1. The Setup
Lie flat on your back with arms at your sides. Bring your legs into a 'tabletop' position (knees over hips, shins parallel to the floor) to stabilize your pelvis.
2. The Curl
Exhale to nod your chin and curl your head, neck, and shoulders off the mat. Gaze into your 'scoop'—the hollow of your deep abdominals.
3. The Reach
Extend your legs to a 45-degree angle (or keep them in tabletop if you're a beginner). Reach your arms long and low, hovering just above the mat.
4. The Pump
Vigorously pump your arms up and down from the shoulders. Inhale for 5 pumps through the nose, and exhale for 5 pumps through the mouth.
5. Completion
Repeat for 10 full breath cycles to reach 100 pumps. To finish, hug your knees to your chest and gently lower your head back to the mat.

Core mastery is not about the visible 'six-pack'—it is about the Powerhouse. Coined by Joseph Pilates, this refers to the deep internal structures from the base of the ribcage to the pelvic floor that stabilize your spine, protect your back, and power every explosive movement you make.
